ONTARIO STORYTELLING GROUPS

If you want to learn more about storytelling, find events that are happening in your area, or learn to tell stories yourself, there's no better place to start than by contacting a storytelling group near you. Most groups welcome visitors and new members, and are only too happy to tell you about upcoming storytelling events.

The Brant Taletellers Guild meets on the 1st Wednesday of the month from September to June. Meetings begin at 7 pm and are held at the main branch of the Brantford Public Library. The 1000 Islands Yarnspinners
Come on out to the first get together of the season with The 1000 Islands Yarnspinners in their new home.
The Brockville Museum, 5 Henry Street, graciously opens its doors to our collective the third Monday of every month from September to June.
Our new times are 7 - 9 pm or a little bit later depending on the stories!

We look forward to a great year of regular gatherings and community outreach. If you know of a library, organization or group in a rural setting that would like to host us for an evening please let me know. We can do three this year on a first come basis.

We always welcome listeners as well as tellers so please feel free to bring a friend along. And pass this message on to those you think would be interested.

Storybarn Tellers of North Bruce meet on the second Monday of each month. From June through Labour Day. They meet in the Storybarn 995 Dyers Bay Road, Dyers Bay, N. Bruce Peninsula.at 7.p.m. The rest of the year they meet in members homes.

Ottawa Storytellers
The Ottawa StoryTellers host a number of events every year including monthly Story Swaps, our annual StoryTelling Festival in November, as well as a range of professional development activities from beginner's workshops to master classes. We also hold three regular performance series: Stories from the Ages, a series of epic tales, "Speaking Out, Speraking In", a series held monthly at the National Arts Centre's Fourth Stage; and "Stories and Tea", a twice monthly series at a local tearoom.


Our monthly Story Swaps are held on the first Thursday of each month, at the Library and Archives of Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Room 156. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to come and tell a story and / or listen to the stories. Light refreshments are served during the break.
