Rukhsana tells stories for all age groups, from junior kindergarten to OAC and considers it a challenge to hold her audiences spellbound, hanging on every word. Rukhsana tells stories from the Middle East and Persia, as well as stories from Islamic history and her own tales. She has performed at many storytelling festivals and venues.

Special Programs

Universality in Folktales:
A program which takes children through story structure and what makes a story universal and encourages them to explore their cultural roots through story and then share their cultural heritage with each other.

Author Visit:
Rukhsana talks about how she came to be a writer and about her books and awards. She shows pictures of the Afghani refugee camp her second picture book was set in and talks about life in a third world refugee camp.

Storytelling:
Rukhsana tells stories from Persia, the Middle East and Islam. Some of the stories are funny, some sad, but all are entertaining and will explore a world that is exotic and wonderful.
